Richard Graham Bond (Graham)

June 11, 1934 – February 27, 2016

Predeceased by parents Bill and Eunice and brother Elwood.

Survived by devoted wife of 61 years Marlene, daughter Tracy, son Mitch (Dawn), grandchildren Jessica, Amy and Seth, great-grandchildren Caelie-Bryn, Kierran and Caitlin-Bri, brother Bert (Mary), sisters Wilma and Denise (Al), sister-in-law Gloria, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Graham passed peacefully at home surrounded by family who are proud for the strength he showed through his long battle against cancer and remember fondly his wicked sense of humour.

The family would like to thank all our Powell River friends, most notably the Wasps and the Dices, for years of enduring support. They also thank the Port Alberni home care nurses and support workers for making it possible for Graham to remain at home as he wished.

Graham will be remembered as an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating. Many years of enjoyment were had with family and friends at his float home on Powell Lake. He also cherished his memories of guiding in the Yukon. He moved to Port Alberni midlife, where he built a new home and a hobby farm. He was very active in the rodeos and agricultural life on Vancouver Island. In later years, he converted the farm into parkland where he enjoyed the wildlife and peace of country living.
