Ice cream truck owner Darryl Jackson and his company's recent drawing contest winner Cielo Treavor are seen here wearing t-shirts with Cielo’s winning design. She had a personal visit from the Ice Cream Man on Monday, July 16, and received a t-shirt and treats for her family and friends.

Cielo also had another surprise; an ice cream VIP card entitling her to treats whenever she sees the truck. T-shirts featuring her artwork will be worn by ice cream truck staff throughout the summer.

The shirts are also available for the public to purchase for $20, with 100 per cent of the funds raised going to support Powell River’s ORCA (On the Road with Children’s Activities) Bus, which has been on the road since February 2009.

ORCA Bus currently delivers a StrongStart outreach program for School District 47, City of Powell River, Supported Child Development (inclusion Powell River), Tla’amin Health, and a plethora of other activities at various community events. It offers programmed stops from Saltery Bay to Lund and Texada Island.
