Legendary impressionist André-Philippe Gagnon brings his high-energy show to Max Cameron Theatre on Saturday, October 7.

Internationally acclaimed singing impressionist André-Philippe Gagnon is the latest presentation by Paul Mercs Concerts, a national concert promotions company now based in Lund. Gagnon is renowned as one of the world’s best impressionists and his show has been heralded everywhere from Las Vegas to The Tonight Show.

“His uncanny ability to impersonate to a tee the singing voices of hundreds of our greatest vocal legends, along with his incredibly accurate mimicry of their mannerisms, culminates into an original, unique and very entertaining show,” says Paul Mercs Concerts owner Paul Mercs.

Gagnon launched his career in 1985 at Montreal’s Just for Laughs festival, leading to him be invited to Johnny Carson’s late night talk show to perform a rendition of “We Are the World” where he mimicked the song’s many pop stars in front of more than 15 million television viewers.

Gagnon has spent the past 30-plus years touring with his popular act. He is considered by many to be the number-one singing impressionist in the world. Often doing an impression per minute during his high-energy show, Gagnon’s roster of characters include Justin Timberlake, Mick Jagger, The Beatles, Johnny Cash, Elton John, Jon Bon Jovi, Tracy Chapman, Phil Collins, Enrique Iglesias, Boy George, James Brown, Lionel Richie, Bono and many others.

Paul Mercs Concerts has more than 40 years of experience in various aspects of the entertainment business, including artist management, large-scale event production and concert promotion.

The company debuted in Powell River in May when singer/songwriter Ron Sexsmith played Max Cameron Theatre. After Gagnon next Saturday, Paul Mercs Concerts is presenting Canadian rock band The Northern Pikes on November 10 and will be announcing more local concerts soon.

"We're excited to have a terrific artist like André-Philippe Gagnon visit us in Powell River,” says Mercs.
