Eva was born in Sliammon and the eldest daughter of Albert and Cecilia Wilson. She was predeceased by her husband Jack Hanson, brothers Moses and Peter Wilson, sister Marilyn Louie, sisters-in-law Nora Blaney, Theresa Hanson and Jean Gorden, and her brothers-in-law Jim Blaney, Al Hanson, Johnny Hanson, Johnny Gorden and Lorn Lee.

Eva is survived by her sons Ervin (Rose) and Larry (Helen) and daughters Glida and Donna (Wayne). She is also survived by her sister Mary Jane Adams and family, sister-in-law Marjorie Hanson and her family, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.

Eva married in Church House and moved to Redonda Bay, then to Powell River and Vancouver. She worked in canneries in Redonda Bay, Steveston, Namu and fish canneries in Rivers Inlet. She also shucked oysters in Okeover Arm.

Eva dedicated her life to raising her family and nurtured strong friendships over the years while playing bingo, going to church and work. We will all remember Eva as kind and strong.

Eva faced many challenges in her own kind way. She will be forever missed by her family and friends.

A wake will be held at 4 pm on Sunday, June 11, at Sliammon Hall. Church services will take place at 11 am on Monday, June 12, at Church of the Assumption.
