Lorne Joseph Salmond

Lorne passed away on the evening of Tuesday, August 1, at Willingdon Creek Village in Powell River. He was 89 years old.

Lorne is survived by his two sons Randy and Danny, his daughter Laurie (James) Jago and his sister Elaine Ford of Saskatchewan. He also leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Born in Humboldt, Saskatchewan, Lorne moved to Powell River in his early 20s and found work at the mill. The love of his life, Marguerite, joined him and they settled down to raise their family.

Friends and family knew Lorne to be a devoted family man, a hard worker and a trusted friend. His thoughtfulness, humour and many colourful sayings will be remembered well.

Lorne liked to vegetable garden, camp, hike and fish. He was also a darn good cook and bridge player.

Lorne’s family would like to thank Doctor Elliott and the wonderful staff at Willingdon Creek Village for all the love and care they lavished on our dad during his last few years.

A dear husband and father, he will be forever missed.

No formal service upon request.
