First Insurance and Westview Agencies are rebranding to The Co-operators. As a result of this change, effective February 1, 2020, First Insurance will close its doors at the First Credit Union Joyce Branch location and will join the team at Westview Agencies in Crossroads Village, under one brand: The Co-operators.
“We are changing our name and our location, but clients will continue to be helped by the same great people and provided with the same great service,” says Greg Babcock, office manager of First Insurance.
First Insurance and Westview Agencies partnered with The Co-operators in 2016 but kept their respective names. He adds that the move to change the name is a natural fit for both companies.
“The Co-operators are very aligned to our values,” says Greg. “Their business decisions are guided by their cooperative principles and they put people first.”
Canadian-owned, The Co-operators Group Limited is well known for its community involvement and its commitment to sustainability, explains Greg. The insurance co-operative has been helping Canadians protect what matters most to them for 75 years, he adds.

Kevin Sigouin, CEO, says the move is an exciting time for the company.
“We appreciate the many years of support our loyal clients and First Credit Union members have given us,” says Kevin. “With the majority of the products and services we offer being the same at both locations, it just makes sense to have our licensed professional insurance agents under one roof. Clients can rest assured that there won’t be any changes to their coverage or policies.”
All First Insurance client files will be transferred to the Crossroads Village location during the move, so customers can go into the new location with questions and get the answers they need, says Greg. He adds that if a client has a claim in progress, the move across town will not affect it and the claim will continue to be managed by the adjuster who was already assigned to the file.
The Co-operators, located at 109-4871 Joyce Avenue inside Crossroads Village Shopping Centre, is open from 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Saturday.
