Dina Del Bucchia poetry reading

Tsk Tsk Revue

Expose Yourself presents the Tsk Tsk Revue all the way from Lasqueti Island from 8 pm until late at Carlson Community Club with dancing to DJ Beatfarmer to follow. Crossing the Bar: A short comedy

Crossing the Bar is being performed once with Tsk Tsk Review on March 23, 8 pm at the Carlson Community Club. Tickets are $15 at Base Camp or $20 at the door. Crossing the Bar is being performed a second time as part of Opening Night for the Expose Yourself Festival on April 5 at 9 pm in the Arts Centre above the library. Admission is by donation.

Thursday, March 21

Malaspina Naturalists Club hosts Steve Gordon and his talk on Goats, Grizzlies and Goshawks: Adventures of a Habitat Biologist, focusing on research of mountain goats in the upper Powell River area. Held at the Trinity Hall, United Church, doors open 7 pm, refreshments available, everyone welcome. Call 604.485.0077 for information.

Paddling For Life Society monthly meetings are held the third Thursday of each month in the Powell River General Hospital Board Room at 7 pm. Anyone interested in paddling with an all-female team whose main focus is on eliminating breast cancer can call 604.485.3828.

Tuesday, March 26

Sunset Wheelers 4x4 group meetings take place on the last Thursday of every month at 7 pm at Paparazzi Pizza.



Salvation Army

StrongStart early learning programs are available for children birth to pre-kindergarten at Kelly Creek Community School, James Thomson, Henderson and Westview elementary schools, and on the ORCA Bus. Scottish Country Dancing

Scottish country dancing is held from 6:45 to 9 pm every Monday in Westview Elementary School gym. This form of dancing is usually done with sets of six or eight people. For  information, call 604.485.6801.


Senior Citizens Association of BC Branch 49

Bridge is played on Wednesdays from 10 am to 12 pm and Fridays from 1 to 4 pm at Cranberry Seniors Centre. Other activities taking place at the centre include carpet bowling, crib, strength and balance exercises and Tai Chi. For  information, call 604.414.9456 or visit

Options for Sexual Health drop-in clinic will open from 5 to 7 pm every Thursday at Powell River General Hospital, 5000 Joyce Avenue. Access low-cost birth control, counselling, health screening, pap tests and more.


Soup Kitchen

St. Joseph's Hall hosts a soup kitchen from 12 to 1 pm every Friday. The hall is adjacent to Assumption Church on Glacier Street.


Sunshine Coast Cloggers

Sunshine Coast Cloggers meet at 6:30 to 8:30 pm on Wednesday evenings at Powell River Christian School.


Stroke recovery

Powell River Stroke Recovery meets 9:30 am to 12:45 pm Tuesdays, September through June, at the Powell River Legion. Tai Chi

Taoist tai chi classes are held 9:30 to 11:00 am, 11:00 am to 12:30 pm Wednesdays and 9:30 to 11:30 am on Saturdays at Trinity Hall, United Church.


Therapeutic Riding Association

Therapeutic Riding Association provides opportunities for volunteers to enjoy fresh air, exercise and guaranteed big smiles, 45 minutes a day or more, Monday to Thursday at Paradise Valley Exhibition Grounds. Powell River Trail Riders Club meets at 7:30 pm on the first Monday (except holidays) every month at the Paradise Exhibition Grounds clubhouse.


12 Steps

Circle of CARE (confidential, accepting, respectful, encouraging) is held from 7 to 9 pm every Wednesday at Elders/Cultural Centre, 4940 Salish Drive. Concert Band

Powell River Community Concert Band, directed by Roy Carson, meets 7:30 to 9 pm Thursdays in the Brooks Secondary School band room, 5400 Marine Avenue. Cranberry Community Hall Association

Powell River 4-H Clubs

Powell River Public Library

Reach to Recovery

Reach to Recovery provides hospital and home visits to recently diagnosed breast cancer patients. Service offers one-on-one counselling with trained counsellors for anyone who has been diagnosed with breast cancer, and provides information. Rotary Club of Powell River
