VIMFF Mountain Film Festival

Come out and enjoy some of the best mountain films from the Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival at 6 pm at Max Cameron Theatre. Powell River Fire Rescue, BC Wildfire and regional parks departments invite everyone to Wildfire Community Preparedness Day community picnic from 11 am to 2 pm at Timberlane Park. Lots of fun activities and great information on protecting families and properties from damaging impacts of wildfires will be available.

Royal Canadian Legion Branch 164 will conduct a candlelight tribute at 3 pm for veterans interred locally. A parade will enter Powell River Regional Cemetery at 3 pm, followed by a short service. A dinner, free to veterans, will follow at the Legion. Tickets are $5 for other guests.

StrongStart early learning programs are available for children birth to pre-kindergarten at Kelly Creek Community School, James Thomson, Henderson and Westview elementary schools, and on the ORCA Bus.
