Community brief: National Fire Prevention Week

Several local students have participated in tours of the Powell River fire hall this week as part of National Fire Prevention Week.

Powell River Fire Rescue will be hosting an open house at the hall at 6965 Courtenay Street on Saturday, October 13, with activities, fire safety information, broom buster and ORCA Bus on location, as well as hot chocolate and hot dogs.

The event takes place from 11 am to 1 pm. Coast FM will also be on site.
