The Rotary Club of Powell River member Joyce Carlson recently turned over a cheque for more than $600 to Canadian Tire owners John Kristof and Michelle Hodgkinson-Kristof for Jumpstart.
Club members provided a tailgate party barbecue at Powell River Kings' season opener to raise the funds.
Last year 130 youngsters and their families applied for assistance to participate in sports and other activities, which would not have been possible without the support of this program.
