Powell River artist Stefan Fogarty, also known as Catnip [left], with help from Rhys Galligos [right] recently began work on a mural on the front, side and tower of Miklat Recovery Society’s building in Townsite, the former location of St. John Ambulance.
Powell River Regional Hospital District Board approved the project at a meeting last month, voting unanimously in favour of the mural.
More than 100 people expressed interest in donating time, energy and money to the project when Fogarty began looking for ideas and volunteers.
