Dwight Hall served as the host venue for three performances of Powell River Academy of Music’s annual holiday tradition, Carols by Candlelight, on Friday, December 13, and Saturday, December 14. The 42nd annual edition of the event included evening performances on Friday and Saturday, as well as an afternoon concert on Saturday afternoon.

The academy's Apprentice Choir wowed the crowd with its rendition of "My Favourite Things" from the 1959 Rodgers and Hammerstein musical The Sound of Music.

Shows also included performances by Powell River Girls Choir, Powell River Boys Choir, Powell River Youth Choir, Academy Chamber Choir, and the Academy Singers. In addition to performing on their own, the groups came together to sing as a mass choir to close out the evening, treating the welcoming audience to classic tunes and filling the hall with the sounds of the season.
