Culture brief: Said The Whale performs in Powell River

In addition to songs from the Vancouver-based band and stories from Lawrence, who hosted the show, Kathryn Calder from New Pornographers, Jay Malinowski from Bedouin Soundclash and the Tla’amin Drummers also entertained audience members.

A crew from CBC radio visited Powell River to tape the sold-out event, which will be broadcast across the country on Canada Day.
