BC Ferries cancels a sailing for Langdale ferry on Thursday

Three sailings on the L-run have been revised for tonight

A BC Ferries vessel at Langdale terminal.

The 5:25 p.m. sailing leaving Langdale, and destined for Horseshoe Bay, will not be sailing on Thursday, Dec. 15.

In an update issued 1:36 p.m., BC Ferries said it was "unsuccessful in securing the required number of crew to sail the Queen of Surrey." Instead, a complimentary water taxi will be offered to foot passengers for that time.

"We require a specific number of crew members on board the vessel to ensure the safety of our passengers in the unlikely event of an emergency and to comply with Transport Canada regulations," BC Ferries states. "The decision to cancel a sailing in these circumstances is made when we have exhausted all options to find replacement crew."

Three other sailings have been revised on the L-run, including:

  • an 8:05 p.m. departure from Horsehoe Bay to Departure Bay
  • 10:10 p.m. from Departure Bay to Horseshoe Bay
  • and 12:10 a.m. from Horseshoe Bay to Langdale

Passengers with bookings will be contacted by the company's customer service centre.
