City of Powell River Council appointed mayor Ron Woznow as liaison to Powell River Chamber of Commerce at the March 21 council meeting. Councillor Cindy Elliott has been named as the alternate.
Powell River Chamber of Commerce had requested that a member of council be appointed to the chamber board as an ex-officio, non-voting member.
“The chair of the board contacted me and asked if the city would be taking up the offer to appoint somebody,” said Woznow.
After his nomination, councillor Cindy Elliott asked if Woznow would be wanting an alternate to be appointed. Woznow said he thought it was an excellent idea. Elliott was appointed as alternate, with Woznow the liaison.
