Suspect vehicle sought from serious Port Coquitlam motorcyclist hit-and-run

A motorcyclist is expected to make a full recovery after they were hit by a van near Lougheed Highway on July 28, 2021.

A motorcyclist was taken to hospital Wednesday night (July 28) but is expected to fully recover after a hit-and-run collision in Port Coquitlam.

Now, Coquitlam RCMP are looking to identify the van involved in the serious incident and are appealing to the public for help.

Witnesses claimed to have seen a dark-coloured GMC van struck a motorcyclist around 8:20 p.m. at the intersection of Westminster Avenue and Oxford Street, one block north of Lougheed Highway.

The van drove away immediately and was last seen driving eastbound on Prairie Avenue.

Police have since obtained and released captured images of the vehicle.

It's described as:

  • Dark coloured
    • Possibly dark grey, dark blue or black
  • Logos on the side and rear
  • Front end damage
  • Front grill missing its GMC logo

Residents with dashcam footage of the van or the hit-and-run are encouraged to send content to Mounties.
