A small but enthusiastic group of runners, walkers and cyclists participated in Powell River’s 22nd annual Loon Lake Race under favourable skies on October 8. The event featured seven-kilometre and 13-kilometre categories at Inland Lake Provincial Park. In a sprint to the finish, the seven-kilometre race record was broken by Brooks Secondary School student Chase Wilson, 16, who beat fellow student Will Rice, 15, by only .03 seconds.
