January 10; Joyce Avenue, 4700 block
At approximately 2:50 pm, police responded to a report of a theft of a wallet from a vehicle in the Canadian Tire parking lot. A short time later, police responded to a fraud report at The Source. One of the credit cards from the stolen wallet was being used for a purchase at that location. Once on scene, police located the owner of the wallet (who had also been advised of the fraudulent card activity) holding the suspect on the ground. Police arrested the 39-year-old male suspect, who is currently facing 11 charges including fraud, possession of stolen property, causing a disturbance and resisting arrest. While everything worked out in this instance, in the interest of public safety, it is recommended that the public contact the police for assistance.

January 11; Duncan Street, 7200 block
At approximately 10:38 am, police responded to a theft from BC Hydro. Sometime in the previous six days, someone had broken into two of the utility trailers on the property, stealing items valued at approximately $5,000. Based on the quantity of items stolen, it is believed a vehicle would have been needed to move the items after the break and enter.

January 13; Algoma Avenue, 4600 block
At approximately 9:41 am, police responded to a theft of bicycles at a residence. Sometime between January 12 at 7 pm and January 13 at 9 am, someone stole two Giant mountain bikes that were chained together. The approximate value of the bikes is $3,000.
