March 11; Joyce Avenue
At approximately 3 pm, police were alerted to a possible impaired driver leaving a business. When RCMP eventually caught up to the vehicle, it was believed to have also been involved in a collision earlier that day. The driver, a 20-year-old female from Powell River, displayed signs of impairment. She was returned to the detachment where a breathalyzer test was conducted. The female is now facing several criminal code charges including operating a vehicle with a blood-alcohol level over .08.

March 10; Powell River
At approximately 5:30 pm, an officer on patrol observed a vehicle believed to be driven by a prohibited driver. When police approached it was confirmed that the driver was prohibited and the vehicle was uninsured. The 1998 Honda Civic was impounded for seven days and the driver, a 38-year-old Powell River resident, will appear in provincial court in April to answer to the charge of driving while prohibited.
