Approximately $1,000 worth of emergency dental supplies were stolen when a parcel was left at the front entrance to the office. Police obtained and reviewed surveillance footage and were able to identify a suspect. As a result, a 45-year-old male was arrested for theft from mail and will be appearing in court in July 2020.

April 4; Highway 101, south
At approximately 9:07 pm,  police responded to a report of a single vehicle collision on Highway 101 near Lang Creek bridge. Police attended and located the driver, a 38-year-old Powell River male, who was still on scene. The driver showed signs of impairment and had an odour of liquor on his breath.  Police attempted to obtain a breath sample using an approved screening device, but the driver failed to provide one. As a result, the driver was issued a 90-day driving prohibition and his vehicle was impounded for 30 days under the Motor Vehicle Act. The male did not sustain serious injuries as a result of the collision.
