Powell River RCMP reported the following for January 7 to 13, 2021.

Break and enter: 3
January 8; Joyce Avenue, 4700 block
At approximately 9:49 am, police responded to a break and enter at the Tourism Powell River trailer. Sometime during the previous night, someone entered the trailer and made a large mess inside. It is unknown if anything was stolen.
January 9; Cedar Street at Arbutus Avenue
At approximately 6:26 pm, police stopped a vehicle near the intersection of Cedar Street and Arbutus Avenue after observing it had a burnt out tail light. Police spoke to the driver, a 62-year-old male from Powell River, and detected a strong odour of liquor on his breath. A breath sample was obtained which registered a fail on the approved screening device. The driver was given an opportunity to provide a second test, which also registered a fail. As a result, the driver was issued a 90-day driving prohibition and his vehicle was impounded for 30 days under the Motor Vehicle Act.
January 12; Edgehill Crescent
At approximately 7:44 am, police responded to a report of a stolen utility trailer from a jobsite. The trailer was last seen the previous day at the job site at approximately 4:30 pm; at 7:30 am the following morning it was missing. Total value of the trailer and tools inside is approximately $20,000. At approximately 11 am on the same day, police were advised the trailer had been located near West Lake and a number of items were missing from inside. Police attended and conducted a forensic examination at the scene. This matter is still under investigation.
