School District 47 board of education trustee Dale Lawson has been acclaimed as chairperson of the board.
At the board’s December 9 meeting, Lawson paid tribute to outgoing chairperson Aaron Reid.
“Running a successful business, raising a family and navigating the many complexities of COVID-19 challenges couldn’t have been easy as board chair, especially in the early days of pandemic and information overload,” said Lawson. “Your commitment and diligence in keeping our board informed and connected has been appreciated immensely.
“Thank you for your leadership over the last two years and thank you for continuing to help make our community stronger.”
Lawson said she’s excited and a bit nervous about pushing out of her comfort zone and filling big shoes, but she’s also deeply honoured to have the opportunity to sit at the board table with each of the trustees to represent the voices of the community together.
