Powell River RCMP detachment closed to public

Police continue to provide policing services to community

Powell River RCMP has closed its front door access to the detachment office to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus to officers and support staff.

The closure took effect the morning of March 24.

“Anyone wanting to contact us can do so by calling the non-emergency line at 604-485-6255 or in an emergency by dialling 911,” said Staff Sergeant Rod Wiebe. “As per our previous news release, we continue to provide policing services to the community and will respond to all emergency calls and crimes in progress. Non-emergency calls will be followed up with via a phone call.

“We want to thank the community for their patience and support during these trying times and we will revert to normal operations as soon as it is safe to do so.”
