City of Powell River manager of planning services brought some housekeeping amendments to Committee of the Whole on Tuesday, February 5.

City of Powell River manager of planning services brought some housekeeping amendments to Committee of the Whole on Tuesday, February 5. Jason Gow reported on six city bylaws to improve the administration of street vending-related activities and ensure all street vending regulations are consistent with the city’s street vending bylaw.

In August 2018, a new standalone street vending bylaw was adopted by council to address ongoing challenges related to the operation of stationary and mobile street vending businesses in the city, including consolidating several bylaws into one, making regulation easier to administer and more accessible for street vending applicants.

Gow recommended six locations for street vending including two at the old barge terminal, one at Willingdon Beach and one at Mowat Bay.
