With just over two weeks to go before the close of voting in the electoral reform referendum, Powell River-Sunshine Coast is in the top 20 ridings for percentage of ballots received so far by Elections BC, but the return rate is still below 10 per cent.

According to the Nov. 13 update from Elections BC, 3,572 local voters have sent in their packages, or about 9.1 per cent of eligible voters.

The overall return rate for the province is 5.3 per cent so far.

Sunshine Coast voters should have received their ballot packages by Nov. 2, and the completed ballots must be received by Elections BC no later than Nov. 30.

Ballots can be returned by mail, or dropped off at Service BC offices, including the office at 5710 Teredo St. in Sechelt.
