Effective March 25, BC Ferries is temporarily suspending the pilot project offering direct service between Texada Island and Comox on Wednesdays and Saturdays on the Powell River (Westview) – Comox (Little River) route.

According to an advisory from BC Ferries, this measure is being done to reduce risk to customers and employees during the COVID-19 situation.

The departure times on those days will not change during this suspension, which will remain in place until further notice.

In consultation with the local ferry advisory committee, BC Ferries will resume the pilot at an appropriate time, the advisory stated. This will enable Texada customers to resume this direct service opportunity and will provide the best chance for the pilot to succeed.

“BC Ferries thanks our customers for their patience and understanding during these extraordinary circumstances,” the advisory stated.
