A motor vehicle accident in Powell River on Friday, January 10, resulted in a pickup truck hitting the wall outside of Capone’s Cellar on Duncan Street, damaging the structure.
Powell River RCMP and Powell River Fire Rescue were on scene while the vehicle was being pulled away from the building by a tow truck.
According to RCMP, a 72-year-old male reversed his vehicle into a light post, and then accelerated, hitting another vehicle and the exterior wall of the liquor store.
Total damage to the vehicles and store was in excess of $10,000. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in this incident.
