Crofton House wins AAA high school volleyball championship in Powell River

Defending champions outlast Campbell River school in final

A gruelling five sets were required to determine the 2018 AAA High School Girls BC Volleyball Championship gold medalist on Saturday, December 1, in Powell River.

Defending champion Crofton House School (Kerrisdale) outlasted Carihi Secondary School (Campbell River) in the final match three sets to two (25-18, 23-25, 25-18, 24-26, 15-12) to retain the title.

Elgin Park Secondary School (Surrey) claimed the bronze medal with a two sets to one victory (25-15, 15-25, 15-13) over Little Flower Academy (Vancouver).

Host club Brooks Secondary School Thunderbirds finished the 16-team tournament in 14th place with a record of one win and six losses.
