Powell River-based bodybuilder Dina Windsor is currently ranked first in her category for the title of Muscle and Fitness magazine’s Ms. Health and Fitness.

“It’s all so humbling and overwhelming,” said Windsor. “But once again if I can inspire at least one person, it’s all worth it.”

The contest, currently closing in on round five of eight, is decided by online votes. Local voters have given her the edge, said Windsor.

“Thank you to the community of Powell River for the continued love and support with helping me achieve my dreams,” she added.

The mother to four sons and grandmother to one entered her first bodybuilding competition three years ago. Last summer she placed second in her category attheArnold Classic, one of the most prestigious international amateur bodybuilding competitions in the world.

Muscle and Fitness describes its contest as the world’s largest online fitness competition. It is also a fundraiser for the Wounded Warriors Project, a charity and veterans service program for wounded military personnel.

The top prize winner receives $20,000 and a two-page feature in the publication read by more than 500,000 people monthly. Online voting for round five ends July 31. To cast a vote, go to mshealthandfitness.com/2019/dina-windsor?fbclid=IwAR3ivIxcoDxCiMqf-pYayorEN2-2eqIfCdmc-TN64-7SvDlKVr9PBEHeH8Q.
