Victoria Grizzlies eliminated Powell River Kings from further playoff action with a 6-1 home win in game seven of the BC Hockey League Island Division final on Monday, March 25.

Grizzlies scored twice in the first period and took a 3-0 lead in the second before Neal Samanski answered for the Kings with his fifth post-season goal six minutes prior to intermission.

Two more Victoria goals less than a minute apart midway through the third period put the game, and series, on ice. Grizzlies added their sixth goal with just over two minutes remaining in the game.

Kurtis Chapman stopped 27 shots to lead the Grizzlies into the third round, avenging a five-game loss to the Kings at the same stage of the playoffs in 2018.

Powell River goaltender Mitch Adamyk made 40 saves in defeat.

Attendance at the Q Centre was 1,892.
