Powell River Kings shore up blue-line

Defender Ian Kern has committed to joining the Powell River Kings for the 2019/2020 season, according to an announcement by the BC Hockey League club on Friday, June 7.

Kern spent last season with the Greater Vancouver Canadians of the BC Hockey Major Midget League, where he scored three goals and added 11 assists over 36 games in his second season with the team.

The Vancouver native, who will turn 17 in October, was called up to play in four regular season games with the Kings last season. He also appeared in two postseason contests.
