Powell River Kings win first preseason game

BC Hockey League club opens exhibition schedule in Port Alberni

Powell River Kings needed overtime in their first game action of the 2019/2020 season. The BC Hockey League team visited Port Alberni Bulldogs on Thursday, August 22, and edged the home team 3-2.

Jack Brackett scored twice for the Kings, including the extra-time winner. Levi Glasman, who finished second in Kings’ scoring last season, gave the visitors a short-lived 2-1 lead in the third period before the Bulldogs equalized to force overtime.

Kings and Bulldogs faceoff again today in Port Alberni. The two teams meet for a third time to complete their exhibition schedule at 5 pm on Friday, August 30, in Powell River.
