Powell River Midget Rep Kings improved their record to 2-0 with a 12-3 win over Salmon Arm at the 2019 BC Hockey Midget Tier 3 Championship in Cranbrook on Monday, March 18.

“It was actually a close, back-and-forth game for two periods,” said assistant coach Scott Mastrodonato. “We managed to mount a late second period push to make the score 4-2 after 40 minutes.”

Powell River exploded for eight more goals in the final period.

“Our depth and speed was too much for them today,” said Mastrodonato. “Offence came from throughout our lineup, which was a nice confidence boost for everyone.”

Powell River plays twice (Squamish and Castlegar) on Tuesday, March 19, to wrap up the round-robin portion of their schedule. Medal round games take place on Wednesday, March 20.

Powell River defeated tournament host Cranbrook by a score of 5-2 on day one.
