Logger sport local king

Don Morberg, sports editor

Ken Bolen seems to the king of local logger sports. He won every event he entered at the Lang Bay community fair on the weekend and he entered everything but the ladies crosscut doubles.

Bolen came first in the bare bucking ahead of Joe Van Es and Ralph Forrest. He teamed with Jim Bolen to take the men’s cross-cut doubles and beat out the teams of Ray Vasseur and Bill McKee and Rob Herron and Mike Euler.

Bolen took first in the cross-cut singles ahead of Ray Vasseur and R. Lloyd to round out his day’s activities.

Women’s cross-cut doubles was won by Phyl Euler and Colleen Wood with second going to Evelyn Stiller and Dorothy Parent. Third were Doris Spick and Virginia Bolen.
