Twitter Canada releases annual list of most mentioned celebrities and trends

Twitter Canada has released its annual “Year in Review” for 2018, which highlights some of the top tweeting trends across the nation.

The review also highlights some of most mentioned celebrities, politicians and athletes, as well as the most used hashtags.

As for Canada’s most tweeted about celebs? Ryan Reynolds was the most mentioned male Canadian actor this year. Following Ryan was Jim Carrey in second, followed by Seth Rogen in third. Stephen Amell and Finn Wolfhard took fourth and fifth respectively.

Shay Mitchell was the most-mentioned female actress, with Nina Dobrev taking the second spot. Sandra Oh was third most-mentioned, with Stana Katic in fourth and Evangeline Lily in fifth.

Twitter also ranked the most-mentioned accounts by Canadians in 2018 in the order as follows:

As for hashtags, #BellLetsTalk was the most-mentioned of 2018, followed by #cdnpoli in second.
