qathet Museum & Archives Society has announced its intent to change the museum’s logo from the current design to one that will better reflect the values demonstrated by the society’s name change in 2022.

The contest is open to artists of all ages and skill levels. The winner will be chosen through public voting on a short list of designs.

“We really want to connect with the community and make sure we represent them," stated Mary Williams, assistant curator at qathet Museum & Archives, in a media release. "After the difficult years of COVID, we feel this is a great way to refresh our image and get people excited about what we do."

The museum is accepting submissions for the logo design between September 6 and November 8, 2023. For more information about the contest, go to qathetmuseum.ca/logo-contest.html.

In 2022, Powell River Historical Museum and Archives Association changed its named to qathet Museum and Archives Society to correspond with its regional mandate, according to the release.
