The Weatherhood station above the Peak office is predicting a more than 50 per cent chance of showers from Thursday through to Sunday in the qathet region, with average daytime temperatures hovering between eight to 14 degrees and dropping to between four and eight degrees overnight.

Environment and Climate Change Canada has released a mid-spring weather outlook for the next few months. According to meteorologists, their models are indicating a warmer-than-average spring across Canada: "The most significant deviations from normal are expected over a vast region stretching from the Great Lakes to the Maritime provinces, including part of the Arctic, as well as the interior of British Columbia."

Environment and Climate Change Canada also has an El Niño update: "The 2023/2024 El Niño has peaked as one of the five strongest on record and is expected to transition to a neutral phase by April to June."

Canadian meteorologists also stated that there is a chance of La Niña (cold phase) developing from June to August, with the likelihood increasing from October to December.

"However the most recent projections indicate that the next five years will be warmer than we are used to, which is consistent with rising temperatures linked to climate change," according to a recent Environment and Climate Change Canada weather alert.
