A Vancouver-made hangover cure pill just received Health Canada approval and is now available in stores.

After five years, the Vancouver-based company No Days Wasted has received Health Canada approval for its hangover cure.

After launching in the U.S. in 2018 and securing a deal on Dragon's Den, Vancouver-based No Days Wasted has made a name for itself with the DHM detox pills which are meant to be taken on a night out or right before going to bed to help mitigate the effects of a hangover.

Since appearing on Dragon's Den, No Days Wasted has been featured in Forbes and on Barstool Sports podcasts like Spittin' Chiclets and Call Her Daddy.

"I'm thrilled that we're live in Canada," says founder and CEO Nishal Kumar. "We're excited to help our community feel their best all the time. We're proud to manufacture locally in the Vancouver area, reduce prices for Canadians by 30 per cent compared to our USD pricing, and also increase distribution to make No Days Wasted accessible to all Canadians"

The main ingredient in the supplement is dihydromyricetin (DHM) which breaks down acetaldehyde, a toxin associated with alcohol and reduces inflammation. "Acetaldehyde is the main reason why you experience nausea, brain fog and 'hangxiety' after having a few drinks," explains Kumar, the latter referring to the anxiety some suffer from in anticipation of a hangover.

Other antioxidants, liver protectants, and metabolism-boosting ingredients are also in the pill to help the body bounce back.

No Days Wasted recommends combining the supplement with their Hydration Replenisher because while it's a myth that dehydration causes hangovers, the electrolyte-rich powder has vitamins and zinc for immune support that will certainly make the recovery process speedier.

Now that they're officially approved, the miracle pill is rolling out at retailers across the Lower Mainland. "We're already in Vitasave, Banter Room, Hotel Belmont, and Pharmasave - with more retailers being added every week," says Kumar.

Welks General Store on Main Street, Northpoint Brewing in North Vancouver, Off the Rails Vancouver, and Pudgies Pizza in West Vancouver also carry the supplements and Kumar says that Whistler, Vancouver Island, and the Okanagan will be seeing the pills in stores soon.
