Fitness team values community

Stay fit with 'Coast at Home' videos from your team at Coast Fitness

Passion, openheartedness, generosity, wholeness, and humour are the values that drive the team at Coast Fitness and also why its doors have closed to reduce their impact in spreading COVID-19. Immediately looking for ways to support and connect with the community they have developed live classes to keep people in a routine and to help alleviate some of the anxiety and stress around the world’s current reality.

“We miss the pre-workout chit-chat, the in-class back-talk, and the post-class hoorays. Online workouts were as close as we could make it and we love it,” says co-owner Nichole Strickland. The workouts are designed to be accessible to everyone, and mostly use one’s own body weight, allowing anyone to participate from home.

“We wanted to do something right away, so we just live-streamed a workout. It’s not fancy, it’s not perfect – it’s real. We talk, joke, support, and miscount our reps, just like in a regular in-studio class,” says co-owner Melissa Sloos. The classes are free to the public. Anyone can join the live session, or catch the recordings later on.

Coast Fitness team knows the importance of mental and physical health in times of stress. To further your ease and relaxation, they are working on providing live yoga classes as well, hopefully coming to your living room soon.

“We may not be in the same room, but we feel so connected to our community through these videos, and that makes us feel like everything is going to be okay. We just hope our community feels the same when they are at home sweating with us,” says both Melissa and Nichole.

The workouts are available to everyone, members of Coast Fitness or not. You can do the workout in real-time with Coast Fitness via Facebook Live, Monday to Friday at 9:15 am or catch them later on their YouTube channel. If you’d like to take part in their classes, you can follow Coast Fitness on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. Reach out to them any time through their email at
