The Source Club of Powell River is one of several charities in the province to benefit from the recent Pacific Coastal Airlines Annual Memorial Charity Golf Tournament.

Held on May 30 in Richmond, the event attracted sponsors and golfers from across BC, Canada and the United States, and raised more than $70,000. Since the annual tournament began in 1992, it has raised over $500,000 for local charities.

Pacific Coastal employees contribute their time and energy to make the golf tournament a success, and this year was no exception, according to a media release from the company on Monday, June 17.

“It is definitely an employee driven event,” stated Pacific Coastal director of corporate communications and public affairs, Kevin Boothroyd. “As a BC-owned-and-operated airline, supporting local communities has always been part of our corporate culture and it is wonderful to see our employees embrace that value through their ongoing commitment to this and the many other community causes they support each year.”
