Powell River firefighter captain receives honorary send-off

SOUNDING SIRENS: Powell River firefighter captain Bill Grantham retired in the midst of COVID-19 and was not given an in-person send-off, so a surprise drive-by was organized by his former colleagues.

Several emergency vehicles, as well as a lengthy procession of former colleagues, drove by Grantham’s house, giving him a raucous send-off to retirement.

The drive-by took place in stormy conditions on November 16.
