Tourism Powell River and Townsite Heritage Society will host Canada Historic Places Day on Saturday, July 6, at Henderson House Living Museum. The event at 6211 Walnut Street was announced in a media release on Tuesday, June 18, and will take place from 10 am to 4 pm.

The event is a one-day celebration that profiles Canada’s historic places, according to the release, and is about increasing visits to those locations by locals and travellers. In addition to a brief presentation at 1 pm, free refreshments, cupcakes and the chance to win a door prize will await visitors.

Canada Historic Places Day will also serve as the launch for Townsite Heritage Society’s T-shirt fundraiser, its new website and revamped Townsite Heritage Self-Guided Walking Tour brochure.
