CHORAL CONCERT: Brooks Chamber Choir performed at Winter Nights of Music last week at Max Cameron Theatre.

During a Winter Nights of Music concert on December 1, music teacher Paul Cummings announced that Brooks Secondary School Chamber Choir members will be part of BC ChorFest in Nanaimo next May.

BC Choral Federation is hosting a 125-voice Teen Choir during the event and 30 of his students have been accepted for the two-day experience. The choir will be directed by New Westminster Secondary School choir director Kelly Proznick.

“She is fabulous,” said Cummings.

The Teen Choir will be “rubbing shoulders” with the BC Youth Choir, aged 16 to 25 and he is sure that will be inspiring for his students.

“This year’s Brooks Chamber Choir, 37 in total, are positive, dedicated and talented,” added Cummings. “They’re so much fun to work with. I’m extremely happy about last week’s performance. They should be proud of their work.”
