ALL ABOARD: BC Ferries hosted a birthday party on Sunday, December 16, for the 60-year-old North Island Princess, the ferry on the Texada-Powell River run.
Aboard the vessel during her midday break at Blubber Bay Terminal, BC Ferries staff treated about 100 Texada residents to lunch, including a cake with a photo of the ferry on top.
Ferry captains Dale Mattson [left] and Tommy Stenrud served the first piece of cake to Candi Little of Van Anda.
North Island Princess is the oldest vessel in the BC Ferries fleet and is scheduled to be replaced in 2020.
