A crew took steps on Saturday, September 10, to remove the bell from atop the former St. Gerard’s Catholic Church in Wildwood.

The bell was crafted in Italy and brought to St. Gerard’s, which opened in 1957; it is headed for the mausoleum at Powell River Regional Cemetery in Cranberry.

A final mass and celebration was held at the church in June. The building and property are now for sale.
