Plant sale adds to
afternoon treasure
If spending the afternoon in a tranquil, picturesque lakeshore garden enjoying a traditional English tea sounds appealing, the place to be is Texada Island Garden Club’s English tea and plant sale, from 1 to 4 pm on Sunday, July 14.
The event takes place in the sumptuous gardens of club members Kerstin and Darcy Guillemaud, 1102 Spragge Road, between Van Anda and Gillies Bay. As parking is limited, attendees are encouraged to carpool.
The plant sale will feature many specimens from local growers.
Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under if purchased in advance, $10 and $5 if purchased at the gate. Tickets are available on Texada at the Texada Island Inn, First Credit Union, the Texada Market in Van Anda, Gillies Bay General Store, the Ravenous Raven and the Sunday Farmers’ Market. In Powell River, tickets are available at Springtime Garden Centre and Mother Nature. All proceeds will go to local charities.
