In 2003, the Government of Canada proclaimed that Canadian Multiculturalism Day would be observed annually on June 27. The Department of Canadian Heritage describes the day as “an opportunity to celebrate our diversity and our commitment to democracy, equality and mutual respect and to appreciate the contributions of the various multicultural groups and communities to Canadian society.”
Today’s weather:
Get ready to apply the sunscreen. Monday, June 27, is expected to be mainly sunny with a high of 29 degrees Celsius. The humidex index, which meteorologists use to describe how hot the weather feels to the average person, is forecast to be 31. The UV index, a linear scale with each increase in value corresponding to a decrease in time to sunburn, is expected to be eight, or very high.
