In 1962, premier W.A.C. Bennett held a ceremony in Revelstoke to officially open the Trans-Canada Highway in BC. Final cost of the project reached $1 billion. The 7,821-kilometre highway stretches from coast to coast from St. John’s, Newfoundland, to Victoria, BC.
