In 1910, the founder of modern nursing, Florence Nightingale, died at age 90 in London.
In 1961, construction on a wall separating East Berlin and West Berlin began; built by East Germany, it divided the city for 28 years before being mostly dismantled in 1989.
In 1997, the animated series South Park debuted on television. 25 years later, new episodes are still being created and broadcast.
