In 1990, Edmonton Oilers defeated Boston Bruins 4-1 in game five of the Stanley Cup final to win their fifth National Hockey League championship in seven seasons with a four games to one victory in the best-of-seven series.
In 1991, the film Thelma & Louise, starring Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis premiered in theatres. The movie won an academy award for best screenplay.
